Haverford man sentenced 13 to 40 years for sexually abusing a 4-year-old child

MEDIA, PA – Today Delaware County District Attorney Katayoun M. Copeland announced that Michael Adam Kaminsky, 47, of Haverford Township, was sentenced to 13 to 40 years in prison in addition to lifetime registration as a sex offender under Megan's Law, for repeatedly sexually assaulting a child in 2017, who was 4-year-old at the time of the abuse.

Michael Adam Kaminsky was convicted in November 2018 following a jury trial before Delaware County Court of Common Pleas Judge Margaret J. Amoroso and found guilty of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of a child, sexual assault, indecent assault and endangering the welfare of a child. Assistant District Attorney Christopher Boggs of the District Attorney’s Special Victims Unit prosecuted the case on behalf of the Commonwealth. The investigation was led by Detective Albert Matthew Hufnal of the Haverford Township Police Department with assistance from Detective Paul Corsi of the Delaware County Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Child Abuse Unit and child forensic interviewer Jodi Kaplan of the Delaware County Child Advocacy Center (CAC).

"The deplorable actions of Michael Kaminsky are abhorrent and beyond reprehensible, as he sexually abused an innocent 4-year old child who was entrusted with his care,” said District Attorney Katayoun M. Copeland. “As the result of the courageous testimony of the victim and his family, the defendant will be in prison for a very long time, and he can cause no more harm. I commend Haverford Township Police Detective Albert William Hufnal, CID Detective Paul Corsi, and child forensic interviewer Jodi Kaplan for their dedicated work on this very difficult case, along with Assistant District Attorney Christopher Boggs of the District Attorney’s Special Victims Unit who has brought justice for the victim and his family.”
