Philadelphia man convicted of first-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of his former girlfriend

Media, PA – Today Delaware County District Attorney Katayoun M. Copeland announced conviction of Kiadee Hussain, 33, of the 5900 block of Trinity Street in Philadelphia, who was found guilty of stabbing his former girlfriend to death who he threatened to kill several times. Hussain Kiadee was taken into custody after the victim, Fabine Sunny Siryon, 46, was found stabbed and deceased at her residence in the 600 block of Darby Terrace, on October 21, 2016.

The jury delivered a guilty verdict on August 16, 2018 following a three-day jury trial before Delaware County Court of Common Pleas Judge John P. Capuzzi, Sr.  Hussain Kiadee was convicted of first-degree murder and possessing instruments of a crime. The investigation was led by Detective Brian Pitts of the Darby Borough Police Department and prosecuted by Delaware County Assistant District Attorney Ryan Grace.

At approximately 11:49 a.m. on October 21, 2016, Darby Borough Police were dispatched to the 600 block of Darby Terrace for a report of a stabbing victim. The first arriving officer was directed to the kitchen where the victim, Fabine Sunny Siryon, was found on the floor, near the sink with a laceration on the left side of her chest. Immediately, Darby Borough Police initiated a crime scene investigation with assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that on May 26, 2016, the victim filed a report against her ex-boyfriend for making threats. Witness statements from seven different individuals described Kiadee Hussain as abusive and violent in nature. One witness told police that the victim was afraid of Kiadee, who threatened and stalked her, and once told her, “If I can’t have you then no other man will have you.” The victim ultimately ended the romantic relationship with Kiadee because he was extremely violent.

As the result of video surveillance which confirmed Kiadee’s whereabouts on the day of the murder along with witness testimony and cooperation, Hussain Kiadee was arrested by Darby Borough Police for the murder of Fabine Sunny Siryon on October 21, 2016.

“The defendant in this case, Hussain Kiadee, is a violent and dangerous man who brutally murdered his former girlfriend in her own home, needlessly cutting her life tragically short,” said District Attorney Katayoun M. Copeland. “While we are extremely satisfied with this conviction, we know that it will not bring back the life of the victim, Fabine Sunny Siryon, nor will it undo the damage this brutal murder caused to her family and loved ones and the surrounding community.  We commend the community and individuals who came forward to provide valuable testimony in this case which resulted in this conviction. I would like to commend Assistant District Attorney Ryan Grace for his outstanding efforts to bring this case to justice, and Detective Brian Pitts and the Darby Borough Police Department for conducting a swift and thorough investigation that led to the quick apprehension of this dangerous and violent individual.”
