41-year-old Aston man faces child pornography charges
Media, Pa – Today District Attorney Katayoun M. Copeland announced Charles Anthony Orlando, 41, of Aston Township, is charged with possessing child pornography, including images depicting naked infants and prepubescent girls between the ages of 3 and 10-years-old who were also engaged in sexual positions or acts.
Charles Anthony Orlando of the 2900 block of Concord Road of Aston is charged with 25 counts of child pornography possession and criminal use of communication facility, both felonies of the third degree.
On June 22, 2018 the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received multiple reports from Google that a subscriber identified as Charles Orlando had uploaded more than 350 images of alleged child pornography to his Google Photos account. As a result, CID Sergeant Kenneth Bellis of Delaware County the District Attorney’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) and PA Internet Crime Against Children (ICAC) Task Force launched an investigation and obtained a search warrant for the home of the Google subscriber, Charles Orlando located at 2950 Concord Road in Aston.
On July 24, 2018, approximately 6:30 p.m., a search warrant was conducted at the trailer residence by CID detectives and Aston Township Police Department. Charles Orlando was home at the time of the search and allowed detectives into the trailer without incident. During the search, the defendant’s cell phone was confiscated from the property. A preliminary examination of the cell phone recovered identified at least 25 images of child pornography. Sgt. Bellis confirmed the images as child pornography which depicted naked infants or prepubescent girls between the ages 3 and 10-years-old.
"Those who possess child pornography contribute to the appalling and disgusting exploitation of innocent children,” said District Attorney Katayoun Copeland. “In partnership with our local police, detectives with CID and the ICAC Task Force are actively working on a daily basis to locate and arrest these individuals. I would like to commend CID Sgt. Kenneth Bellis and the ICAC Task Force, and Aston Township Police for their immediate response to this report, and continued work to apprehend these types of perpetrators.”
Charles Orlando was remanded to the George W. Hill Correction Facility after failing to post $150,000 cash bail. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 8, 2018.
CRIMINAL CHARGES, AND ANY DISCUSSION THEREOF, ARE ALLEGATIONS AND ALL DEFENDANTS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNLESS AND UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
