Anti-Terrorism Unit – CID

Delaware County Employee 911 Remembrance

The Chief of Detectives of CID and the District Attorney established the Anti-Terrorism Unit in October of 2001. The Anti-Terrorism Unit receives and evaluates complaints possibly linked to terrorist activity. Each complaint received is reviewed, acted upon and passed on to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). If the complaint warrants an immediate response, the Anti-Terrorism Unit will assist and report to the FBI.

The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) is comprised of multiple agencies including the US Secret Service (USSS), the US Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), and numerous other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. One CID detective is currently assigned to the Philadelphia FBI JTTF.
